Electrical Engineer – Electrical Power Plant Engineer – Delta, Utah
Job Description
The Intermountain Power Service Corporation (IPSC) is seeking an electrical power plant engineer. The successful candidate should have knowledge and experience in the areas of power plant electrical systems including generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, motor control centers, protective relaying and cable systems. Experience working in power generation is desirable, but not essential.
Responsibilities of Position
•
Design, develop, modify, and evaluate systems, process or facilities to support company objectives
•
Provide technical support to operation and maintenance personnel
•
Troubleshoot electrical problems and determine cost effective solutions
•
Develop electrical engineering studies, specifications, calculations, evaluations, and design documents
•
Prepare and administer contracts
•
Prepare and present in-plant training programs
Requirements of Position
•
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required), Power Option (preferred)
•
Professional Engineer license (preferred)
•
A minimum of five years of related experience (preferred)
•
Experience working with generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, motor control centers, relay protection 



and cable systems
•
Familiarity with test equipment and experience with electrical testing
•
Understanding of codes and standards e.g. NEC and NESC
•
Ability to perform economic analysis of projects to determine project viability
•
Ability to work with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word , and Excel
•
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•
Good troubleshooting ability
•
Must be a strong team player with the ability to work well with people including management, operations, and maintenance
